Girl from the Red Carpet – 200 Harley Street

scarletsbook2As promised, this week I’m spotlighting the second book in the 200 Harley Street series. Girl from the Red Carpet is written by the lovely Scottish author – Scarlet Wilson.  Don’t you just love that cover?

Here’s the back cover blurb:

Lexi Robbins is determined to throw off her ditzy, daughter-of-a-celebrity image and make her own name as Head of PR for the Hunter Clinic. And if that means pestering gruff, super sexy Scottish surgeon Iain MacKenzie until she gets his cooperation she’ll do it! She’s going to shine up this rough diamond and make him a star! But Lexi soon learns that’s the last thing long-grieving Iain wants…. And, with her own secrets to hide behind her dazzling Hollywood smile, getting too close to Iain is the last thing that she wants…!

Here’s a bit more about the 200 Harley Street Hunter Clinic straight from the continuity “bible”:

“The Hunter Clinic’s reputation for excellence has attracted only the top surgeons, who specialize in post-cancer reconstruction, pediatric plastic surgery, hand surgery, facial reconstruction, burns and microsurgery, as well as cosmetic procedures.  They are supported by a dedicated team of skilled, highly professional nurses.”

Lynne’s comments:  Leo and Ethan Hunter are the brothers now running their father‘s established clinic.  They came from a highly functioning, emotionally dysfunctional family which has carried over into their adult lives and relationships.  I was fascinated with their back stories.  I’m sure you’ll find them both intriguing, too.

Lexi played a role in my book in this series, American Surgeon in London (book #4), and I loved writing about her.  Scarlet shared some dazzling photos with me of shoes and dresses and, most importantly, a certain ring that plays a major role in the book, and I loved the inside scoop.  I got to describe the dress and shoes in my book, and I also got to show what a trooper Lexi is.  She is an energetic team player and a definite plus for the Hunter Clinic.  Poor Iain didn’t stand a chance once Lexi put him in her sights.

I hope you’ll check out book #2 – Girl from the Red Carpet from 200 Harley Street series, and check back next month for information about book #3 – The Proud Italian by Alison Roberts.

Thanks for reading.

Until next time, make it a great one!

Lynne

Wow! That is an awesome cover! Sounds like a great read!

  2. I think so, too, and fitting for a Harley Street heroine. 🙂

    Thanks for commenting, buddy!

  3. I love how you and Scarlet are sharing Lexi in each of your series! Who needs movies and celebrities?! Our characters are always with us and transfer into our readers’ lives as well. You’re leaving us all hanging, Lynne, with this dazzling ensemble you described! Sounds like a great read and I must agree with Dee; the cover is awesome.

    • Hi Tricia –
I totally agree that our characters impact our readers’ lives. It was great fun to work with an editor written bible for the series, and then seeing how each author in the eight book series ran with their premise.

We had an authors’ loop to communicate and make sure we all agreed on where we took our characters and how that impacted all of the other stories. It was really fun.

      Thanks for reading and commenting.

Wow! That is one of the best covers I’ve seen this year! I hope it gets entered into some book cover contests. I’m loving the sound of this series, and it sounds like it was fun to write too.

    • Hi Robena – yes, the medical book covers (especially the continuities) have gotten seriously better.

It is always fun to read the “bible” for an eight book series to see where your characters fit in. The overlapping with other books is a bonus.
I’ll be sure to tell Scarlet to enter her cover into a contest.

      Thanks for reading and commenting.
