Eight maids a-milking, of course! This is my favorite song so I know all the days!

One for you…Do you know how much it cost for all these 12 days of gifts if they were purchased with todays dollars? I was shocked at the cost!!! I’ll check back to see if you looked it up. ROFL!

Thanks for the opportunity to share. Best wishes to you and yours during the holidays!

    belgre AT comcast DOT net

    • Hi Belinda!
Wow – I think you’re the only person I’ve met who knows all the words. I can get as far at 10 pipers piping and I have to look up 11 and 12 LOL>

OK – I am taking a wild stab at how much all of these items would cost today – oh, do we have to purchase that pear tree too? And do we factor in the standard union rate for those piping pipers and dancing ladies? LOL –

I hope you come back and let us all know because I haven’t looked it up – I’m guessing 2 million dollars. (something tells me that is too low, though)
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you and yours!

I am going to have to say 8 maids a milking… At work last week we had to name them all and how many gifts would you have if you got all the gifts from the 12 days, I was wrong with my answer and wow it is a lot of gifts!

  31. Hi Teryn – I’m glad they do Christmas trivia at work. Sounds fun.

So how many gifts were there? I think the deal is he keeps repeating the prior gifts on each day, is that right?

    What a crazy song, eh?

Thanks for entering at my website – now go forth and enter at the other 11!

Here in the park in Parkersburg are the holiday lights and one section is the 12 days and it’s always the working girls supporting the ones partying, they come right after the swans swimming so there are 8 maids a milking. After that they are playing music, leaping and dancing!

    • April – you got the 8 and Maids part right (I know what you mean about the song getting tougher and tougher as it goes along) – so I’ll count it as close enough. 🙂
