On the Road Again…

The Royal Family

Me and the Royal Family.

Afternoon tea anyone?

Go west goths!

No one will notice, trust me!

A crusty old sailor or two.

Last year, my husband and I took a trip to Nova Scotia in October. We had a wonderful time and saw many gorgeous sights. As we drove around the country side, we noticed that several homes had whimsically attired mannequins on their front lawns. Then we found out about a big event in Lunenburg county, the annual Harvest Festival in Mahone Bay
featuring some very creative scarecrows.

In honor of this time of year, I’m sharing a few of the artistic scarecrows we saw. Enjoy!

What is your favorite thing about autumn?  I have a $4.50 coupon to The Wild Rose Press for one lucky commenter.

Cute pictures, Lynne! And if I win I will get your book!

    • Hi Calisa!
LOL – I remember you’d mentioned you’d overspent on books last month, so I thought I’d give you a heads up. 🙂

Thanks for commenting, and so far this competition is pretty cozy.

  2. I’m fighting you for it Calisa! ; )
One for the Road is on my must-buy list anyway Lynne. I tend to wait to buy at least a couple at a time and get them in one hit. Congrats on the fantastic reviews lately. We’re in for a treat!

    • Hi LaVerne!
I’m glad to know there is more than one person out there interested in One for the Road. 🙂

If no one else comments, I might be able to come up with two coupons, we’ll see how it plays out.

Thank you for your interest in One for the Road.

I was involved in a chapter book signing last Sunday and only brought 8 books because I didn’t know how the book would go over. I’m happy to say the book sold out. 🙂

  3. I love scarecrows! Have one hanging on my back door that bears a sign saying “Welcome, Friends!”
My favorite thing about autumn? Cool mornings when I can open up the house to fresh air and sunshine that doesn’t melt the bones!
I just bought a Kindle (love it love it love it) so am looking for books!

    • Hi Judy – Autumn is my favorite season, too. I couldn’t get over how artistic and whimsical so many of the yard scarecrows were. The trip was extra entertaining because of it.

Oh, goody! Another Kindle owner. Now you’ll have to learn how to transfer Wild Rose Press books to be compatible with Kindle. LOL. I think someone said the epub version is best, or maybe it was mobi? Shoot, I have to do look that up now.

Thanks for commenting! I’ll draw a name on Saturday.

Loved One for the Road. Fabulous characters and some really awesome writing. : ) What do I love about autumn? Crunching the leaves as I walk. Picking up a leaf and trying to name every color of red in it.

    • Thank you, Robena! Your comments about One for the Road warm my heart.

It is amazing how many colors are in one fallen Autumn leaf. Nature is beyond awesome.

      Thank you for commenting. 🙂

  5. What beautiful pictures, Lynne! One of my favorite things about autumn is the bringing in of the fall harvest then watching the world change colors.

    • Hi Michelle,
I’m so glad you enjoyed my pictures. I wish I lived in a part of the country that experienced dramatic fall colors, but Southern California is lucky to get a handful of trees turning colors. Northern California is a different story, though, I’m told.

      thanks for commenting.

  6. Calisa – contact me via my website please!

    Congratulations.

    Lynne 🙂
