Book #7 in 200 Harley Street – The Shameless Maverick

We’re up to book #7 in the Medical Romance series – 200 Harley Street.  This one is written by the lovely author, Louisa George and is due out in July. ‘

Here’s a picture of me with Louisa at the 2012 Romance Writers of America conference in Anaheim, California.561381_477756942237390_2136268722_n

Now, on with her fabulous book.  Is this the face of a Shameless Maverick?

One kiss she didn’t forget!

Junior surgeon Kara Stephens has been assigned her first high-profile case to help an injured princess. Great news—if she wasn’t working with hotshot Irish surgeon Declan Underwood, the man she kissed at the hospital ball! Declan’s notoriety with women is rivaled only by his reputation as the best reconstructive surgeon around. But his glamorous life in London is a far cry from his poverty-stricken childhood, and Kara’s about to discover that there’s more to her charismatic maverick than meets the eye….

Glamour, intensity, desire—the lives and loves of London’s hottest team of surgeons!

Mills and Boon continuity authors boiler room:

First off, I love the name Declan.  He seemed like a fun loving, athletic kind of guy in the continuity bible.  Since he also had a bit of a reputation for being a ladies man, I asked Louisa if I could have him show some interest in my heroine, Grace, during my book (#4).  Since the timeline showed Declan hadn’t met Kara yet during my book, we both agreed it would be okay.  Besides, Mitchell (my hero) makes sure to clue Declan in about who saw Grace first.  It turned out to be a fun interlude in an otherwise serious medical business meeting scene.  Thanks Louisa for loaning me Declan for just a bit.

Also, Louisa got to write about my two characters’ wedding in her book, so she asked me to tell her how I’d like to handle that.  Well, I’ve already kind of let the cat out of the bag about “marriage” so I’m definitely NOT going to let on how Grace and Mitchell get married.  You’ll just have to read Louisa’s wonderful book to find out!

Louisa has generously offered to giveaway a 2-in-1 of the last two books in the Harley Street series – The Shameless Maverick (Louisa) and The Tortured Hero (Amy Andrews)

2-in-1 Harley Street

If you’ve read any of the books in this series so far, how did you like them?

Until next time – when I’ll wrap up this great series with Amy Andrews’ amazing story – The Tortured Hero – make it a great one!

Lynne — I love that the characters of your respective books intermingle! Can’t wait to read about the wedding, and get to know Kara and Declan (yes, that’s a great name!).

    • Hi Robyn – yes, it is always a fun challenge to write a series with overlapping elements. This continuity was especially good to work on, though I loved last year’s NYC Angels series too.

Oooh, I like this. I love how the blurb ends on the word eye, and the hero’s eyes are mesmerizing. First thing I noticed about the cover. : )

    • Hi Robena – the first thing I noticed was he looks too darn sweet to be a Maverick! LOL. What I imagined for Declan was a guy with dark curly hair and thick muscles – he’s also a rugby player. See?

  3. Kady Winter says:

Book Seven! Congratulations! And I certainly hope you get to go to London for frequent research trips. Any plans for a medical romance in the Caribbean? 😉

  4. Kady! I like your thinking! Off to think about another exotic place to set a book…

    Thanks for commenting.

That is one smoking hot cover. I’d definitely go with shameless maverick! Love that you guys borrow characters for your own books! Great idea to keep them alive through the series.

    • Hi Dee J – yeah, the continuity bible puts parts of the over-arching story in each book, so we get to mention all of the other hunky heroes in each book.

I got to create a fun character for my story – bad boy rocker –
Davy Cumberbatch – he wants to have “some work done” and it goes beyond what my heroine is comfortable with. LOL
