Three Weeks, Two Conferences

It’s been forever since I’ve posted a blog, but that’s because I went to two conferences in

less than three weeks, and honestly, I’m beat!

I wanted to share a few of my favorite pictures from both events, though if you follow me on Facebook, you’ve probably already seen most of them.

I have a crazy story to tell about how I discovered I’d left my cell phone on the bedside table at home when I was halfway to the airport to attend the Authors After Dark conference in Charlotte, NC, so that’s why there are far fewer pictures from that conference.

Once I’d checked into the hotel in Charlotte, I trotted up College Street to the Epic Center and found a CVS to buy something that has quickly become outdated – a disposable camera!  Remember those?  I kept forgetting to take it with me places, so that cut down even more on photos.  Plus, once I came home and took it to the local CVS for processing, I discovered it will take approximately two weeks to get the photos back!  Seems crazy with the immediacy of cell phone pictures and postings on places such as Facebook, doesn’t it?

Well, I promise to post many more pictures of Charlotte with the next blog post, but this time around, the majority of pictures are from San Antonio, Texas where I, along with around 2,000 other writers met for five days at the end of July for a great Romance Writers of America Conference.

I love your photos. I know that feeling of forgetting the phone and not being able to snap a memorable moment. I don’t envy you the back to back conferences, because I think I took two weeks to get over one. Ha ha. I hope it was good, that it proved beneficial and was at the very least, a ton of fun!

  2. Hi Robena – I discovered I can live without my cell phone, and you know what? It was kind of nice for a few days. Two conferences in three weeks isn’t something I’d ever plan, but having won the registration for AAD, how could I refuse? Parts of that conference were spectacular and others not so much. I’ll have to blog about the extra perk I won while there – drinks with three mega-selling authors!!!! Had a great time talking with them. Yeah, that should be my next blog.
