The Marshall Memo 5/30/11 – One for the Road – The Band
As promised last week, I am featuring the band members from Tyler White’s comeback tour on today’s blog. In case this is your first time reading this month’s blog series, let me reiterate with a brief blurb for One for the Road:
D’Anne Palmer leads a life others dream of until she’s widowed, broke, and must return to California by hiring out her Deluxe RV. One-hit-wonder Tyler White hopes his three-week tour will recharge his career. Journeying from Nashville to Las Vegas, can close quarters help a has-been singer and the widow with California style find love?
Any musician worth his salt knows he’s only as good as his backup band, unless he’s a solo act. In One for the Road, besides my heroine, D’Anne and hero, Tyler, the secondary characters took on a life of their own. Without further adieu, let me introduce you to the Tyler White Band.
Bear “The Unique” plays steel guitar and is a spouting fountain of trivia. He’s a big guy with a sweet disposition, but don’t cross him!
J. T. plays the drums. He’s the young buck of the group and is every girl’s dream and nightmare rolled into one tight package.
Ricky-Bob (I named him before Talladega Nights came out, I swear!) He is the super talented bass, mandolin, and violin player, known to sing harmony to Tyler’s rich baritone. With his unusual hair and demeanor, he is Mr. Nashville flats in the flesh.
I hope this month’s blog series has intrigued you enough to watch for the coming release of One for the Road July 13th from The Wild Rose Press in the Last Rose of Summer line. And though the name of that line may conjure up a withering flower on the vine, please know that the last rose of summer is a strong and beautiful rose outlasting all the others, just like my mature and beautiful heroine, D’Anne Palmer.
Are you ready for the road trip yet?
As promised, I’m offering a free copy of this book (either e-book or print – the winner’s choice) in a drawing from those who answer three questions. I’ve posted those questions on my Contact page. E-mail me with the answers, and I’ll enter you into the drawing, then I’ll announce the winner on the June 20th blog.
Next week I’ll post an excerpt from the book.
Until then, make it a great week!
